Snippets from Elaine - Straight Stitch

Snippets from Elaine
Sewing straight stitch. No worries that it be perfect or even functional. So much is learned in the process of holding the fabric, lining up the fabric pieces, pushing the needle into the right spot. Eye and hand coordination is essential in making equal gaps between the next stitch.

A Christmas skirt for my girl. I like the sound of a new tradition. I found the top and knew that she would love it. The skirts that would have gone with it were very short. I came up with a pretty skirt from scraps of Bridemaids and Brides..from the "scrap pile". Thanks ladies.. my little girl will think it is swell in a redressed skirt:)!

I played with the underwater part of my camera. I got a depth of color when taking a picture of our newly blooming Sunflowers.
The Kiwi tree is producing fruit this year. Cute fuzzy Kiwi babies.

A long shot version of the almost finished product. Aidan helped with the first few boards. Until I realized that I would do the rest .. to cut in and also to make sure that we had enough paint:)
I have had a goal to paint the porch since September. As I have had some issues with my hands and not being able to use them for chore type tasks until the skin healed . (Which it has mostly) Now that the mosquitos have gone back to managable. I took advantage of this beautiful sometimes overcast breezy day to paint the porch with our available "Cedar" color paint stain. It feels good to be able to give the poch a new lick of paint . WInterizing it in the process.
I find that I am much more adept at finishing things as I get older and maturer:) Necessity makes it possible. The love that one has for yourchildren always pushs you to limits you never had even thought of before.
Joy comes not from what we have. But from what we are - Spn.
